Brownlee Mini-Triathlon
Last Friday, Year 6 travelled to John Charles Centre for Sport to take part in a mini-triathlon. It was a sunny day and everyone had a fantastic time. We started the event in the pavilion; learning about the format of a triathlon in a pre-race briefing before each child was given their own event t-shirt and words of encouragement.
Thomas dived into the pool first with Lola and the rest of the Year 6 children hot on his heels. Much like any triathlon, transition one was a blur of organised chaos as children clambered out of the pool towards the bike racks. After following a twisting bike course, each child raced as fast as they could and left transition two to begin the run...
The Year 6 children performed extremely well and demonstrated respect, team work, communication and determination. Every child was awarded a medal and a goody bag and everyone should feel very proud of themselves!
I'm definitely going to do another triathlon,' Eaden.
'I had an amazing day; I would definitely do it again. My favourite part was swimming,' Alice.
