We are committed to becoming a more inclusive school where everyone feels accepted and valued, regardless of difference. To support this aim, we recently purchased in a range of age appropriate books which explore diversity and equality. Teachers chose some of these books to read to their classes as part of World Book Day....
Year 1M (HP) read Milo Imagines the World by Matt de le Pena. They really enjoyed learning about not judging people by their appearance. Zayana said she liked that he was drawing things about what had happened to people. Anya said that she learned that everyone isn't the same.

2D read Alien in the Jam Factory. It is about a boy with Cerebral Palsy called Scooter who is a jam making genius and encounters an alien. The factory next door wants to steal his jam making plans. The children found it funny, especially Boris the Guinea Pig pooping in the baddie’s slipper!
