Flight History Topic - Key Stage 1
On Monday afternoon, Key Stage 1 were excited to welcome a representative from the RAF into their classrooms - albeit virtually!
As part of our new 'First Flight' history topic, we have been learning about how flight and planes first developed and how planes have quickly evolved over the past 100 Years.
During our live workshop we learnt about the different clothes and equipment pilots have used along a timeline and the pupils had a chance to ask lots of questions.
Some comments from the children:
- 'I thought it was interesting to hear that it was so cold for the pilots in the past that their tears would turn to ice!' Darcie
- 'I liked seeing the different equipment in each World War.' Elsie
- 'I liked seeing the pictures of the Spitfires.' Thomas H
- 'It was interesting to see what planes might be used in the RAF in the future.' Louis M
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the live workshop.
