Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you so much for all your help and support this year. We have had a great last day of term, and I was very impressed how well everybody listened and joined in with our extended end of year assembly. It was pretty packed in the hall, but I loved the fact that we were all together as a whole school community and our youngest children spent time with our oldest children on their last day.
Today is a particularly special day for our Y6's. The confidence with which they spoke and performed at the Y6 show and the leavers’ assembly demonstrated that they are all more than ready for the next stage of their education. Y6 have been a wonderful year group and we will miss them.
Staff
I know that many of you have taken time to thank our staff, and we really appreciate your kind words and generosity. We have a wonderful team of staff at Bramhope, and I am very grateful for their effort and support over the course of the year. This year, like any other, has had its challenges. Once again, we have managed the unexpected and continually adapted to change.
I would also like to say an additional thank you to Mr Dawes and Miss Gregson, both of whom left us today. Mr Dawes and Miss Gregson will be greatly missed by staff, pupils and parents. They have made a huge contribution, and we wish them all the very best for the future.
PTA
As we reach the end of the year, it is also important to thank our PTA. Although everyone is a member of the PTA, the committee is a small team of dedicated people who give up a huge amount of time to plan events and fund raise. We simply would not have the school resources we have without them. The PTA also help shape our school community. They bring people together and create lasting memories. A great example of this is our annual festival, perfectly captured in this video: LINK. The password for the video is BPS2023.
Extra -curricular clubs
This week we have been meeting with new providers and confirming arrangements for September. As a reminder, we will be issuing the confirmed extra-curricular timetable for parental sign-ups in the first week of the new term. Thank you for all your positive feedback to date.
Pupil voice
'We are looking for some Y5/6 girls football players who would like to start playing for a team. We would train on Tuesday night and play matches on Saturday morning. If you would like to join, just turn up at the cricket pitch (the rec) on Saturday at 9:30am. You can be any age from 8-11 but we would prefer ages 9-11 to make an under 11 squad. 8 and 9-year-olds are very welcome!
Evenlyn, Maud, Emilia and Ava
School holidays
Total Sports camps will be running here in Bramhope throughout the holiday, starting on Monday 24 July and ending on 24 August.
School will re-open to children from Y1-Y6 on Wednesday 6 September. Parents of children starting in reception are already aware of their slightly staggered start to the term. Please remember that the school start time is changing from September. We will be welcoming children into school between 8:35am and 8:45am. Children will be marked late after 8:45am.
