Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope the first week of the spring term has gone well, and your child is getting back into the rhythm and routine of school life. We have been very pleased with the start of term and particularly impressed with the renewed work ethic which many children are demonstrating.
As you are aware, I wrote to you earlier this week regarding Implications of the Omicron variant and of increased staff absence levels. As I said in my letter, please be assured that I have no information about the possibility of any school closure or of a planned move to remote learning. Like you, I very much hope that we are able to maintain as much normality as possible throughout the next wave of infections. My previous letter is intended to clarify the current situation and I do not intend to spend time creating an updated database of critical workers at present.
Our current pupil absence is higher than usual, but this is to be expected. We are appreciative that parents are erring on the side of caution and I would like to thank you in helping us minimise opportunities for infections. Please remember that if your child has Covid -19 but is well enough to work, class teachers will email you directly about remote learning. Similarly, if your child is unable to access a device at home, please contact our office: admin@bramhopeprimaryschool.co.uk.
Finally, please can I remind our whole parent community about the importance of driving and parking safely near our school site? We have had another incident this week when children were unable to cross the road safely and adults were reluctant to take responsibility for their actions.
Although I work closely with Joel Hebden (our community police officer), you will appreciate that we are not able to enforce driving standards. However, the highway code states that drivers should not park opposite or on school entrance markings or opposite a junction and I would be grateful if all parents could adhere to this.
