Dear parents and carers,
Thank you to the many parents and carers who were able to join us for this week’s reception nativity performances. It was lovely to see how confident and independent the children were and how much they enjoyed singing and performing alongside their friends. As you are aware, many children who started Reception in September 2021 missed out on some of the typical activities which would have prepared them for starting school. Many families were experiencing unprecedented pressures in terms of juggling home learning and caring responsibilities with work, financial stressors, and health concerns. We are extremely proud of the progress our reception children have made this term and am sure you are too.
Staffing update
You may be aware that unfortunately, Emma Hamilton will be leaving Bramhope at the end of this term. Miss Hamilton currently teaches in Y1. This has not been an easy decision for Emma, but she has decided to have a career change and made exciting plans to travel overseas from January. Emma has really enjoyed her time at Bramhope and loved getting to know everyone. Her last teaching day will be Friday 17 December.
Emma will be replaced by Chelsea Parker. Chelsea has a passion for teaching in KS1 and will be a strong addition to our teaching team. Chelsea spent the day with us in school today, and I am pleased that some parents were able to meet her at pick up time.
Most parents are also aware that Brian Bradley is retiring very soon! Mr Bradley’s last working day is also Friday 17 December, and he will be leaving the bungalow and moving to Harrogate before Christmas. As you would expect, Brian has many plans for his retirement and is expecting to rekindle old hobbies as well as take up new ones. We are currently recruiting a new maintenance assistant for school and wish both our leavers the very best of luck for the future.
