I hope that you are all well and your child is enjoying the term. The end of a school year is always a time of significant change, and you will be aware from last week’s newsletter that we have now recruited two new teachers, Nicola Freer and Chris Dawes.
In addition, three of our support staff will be retiring this year, Mrs Marshall, Mrs Coates and Mrs Cahill.
Mrs Marshall started at Bramhope in 2004. Her own children attended this school and except for a short move away from Bramhope, she has been a significant member of our school community ever since! Mrs Marshall has worked in reception, both key stages, the school office and most recently as a 1:1 support assistant. Not only is she flexible, she is also known for her unflappable, calm approach as well as her love of music (did I mention she also used to support the orchestra?) Mrs Marshall has big travel plans and is particularly looking forward to spending her winters somewhere warm!
Mrs Coates started at Bramhope in 2005 and has worked as a 1:1 support assistant as well as a Teaching assistant in KS1 and KS2. Whilst at Bramhope, she has supported hundreds of children over the years, both academically and pastorally. Mrs Coates has a ‘can do’ attitude second to none. She has worked hard to continuously improve the learning environment and the learning experience for our children and overseen much of the changes to our reading scheme. Mrs Coates is again going to be busy when she leaves us and is hugely excited about the birth of her first grandchild later this year!
Finally, Mrs Cahill also started at Bramhope in 2005. In addition to working as a Teaching assistant, she is one of our invaluable pastoral coordinators, supporting children and families across the whole school. Calm and kind, Mrs Cahill is known for her listening skills and empathy. She has provided hours of intervention and pastoral support to many children and their parents in times of need. She has also utilised her nursing background in school and is frequently a ‘go to’ person for a medical opinion. Mrs Cahill is looking forward to being able to spend more time with family and friends and has many hobbies she would like to resume when she has time!
Although we are not yet at the end of term, I would like to formally take this opportunity to thank all the staff who will be leaving us for their dedication and commitment to school. All of them have helped shape Bramhope and been invaluable members of our team. We look forward to our last few weeks in school and I will update you on staff recruitment next week.
