Dear parents and carers,
There was a new sound in school this week - noisy playtimes! I know that many children were really pleased to extend their bubble and join their year group at playtime. It has been great to see new games, new friendships and the buzz that comes from being part of a larger group. Of course, we remain mindful that there are some children who have struggled with yet another change. If your child is worrying about friends or friendships, please do let their class teacher know. We will certainly keep an extra eye on them and look for ways to develop new friendships.
Thank you for returning our parental questionnaire and providing feedback prior to parent’s meetings. We received 237 responses. Unfortunately, last term we missed sending a school report and sharing NFER test results due to Covid. As a result, there were some queries around clarity of home learning and some concern about lack of information regarding pupil attainment and progress. I very much hope that you feel more informed after your meeting with class teachers, all of whom will also be writing an end of year report in the second half of this term. If you still have questions or concerns about current attainment, next steps in learning or ways you can support your child at home, please do contact your child’s class teacher.
More generally, our survey had some fantastic results which we can be really proud of, particularly on the back of such turbulent times:
