Dear Parents and Carers,
As we reach the end of our longest school term, I’m sure the children are ready for a good rest and a break from school. This morning we had our final assembly for 2018 and it was lovely to look round the hall and see just how much the children have grown and developed since September. Thank you for your support throughout this term and of course, thank you to our wonderful team.
School Christmas Music Concert
A huge thank you and well done to everyone who took part in our concert on Wednesday. We were entertained by our school choir and school band as well as various instrumentalists and soloists. It was lovely to see so many children confident enough to perform in public and it certainly provided a real ‘feel good’ factor for our audience. Thank you too to Mrs Thomson-Smith our music specialist who pulled the concert together and ensured audience participation throughout!
School Christmas Dinner
243 Children enjoyed a school Christmas dinner this week. As well as turkey with all trimmings, Christmas pudding and chocolate log, the children (and adults) really enjoyed the crackers and the awful jokes! If you would like your child to move on to school dinners after the holiday, please contact our admin team admin@bramhopeprimaryschool.co.uk
House points
Well done to everyone who has earned house points this term! The final scores were added up this morning and after a tense few minutes; the results were announced as follows:
Burton - 1775
Hepworth - 1753
Bronte - 1705
Wilberforce - 1653
Well done Burton who have won the House cup for this term! Next term we will begin our new tally and we’ll be encouraging the children to try their hardest again – to ‘Belong, Be Your best, Be Bramhope’
Lost property
We have distributed a number of named items this week but still have a cupboard full of unnamed lost property. If you think your child may have lost something this term, please do call into the office and ask to see what is there.
Finally, I’d like to thank everybody who organised, supported or attended our School Christmas Fair. Our runners really looked the part for the Santa dash and we very much hope this will become part of our annual calendar. The bitterly cold weather and freezing rain did not deter our hardy runners, all of whom thoroughly deserved their medals. Well done everybody!
Later on, we all enjoyed the singing (thank you choir & band) gingerbread decorating, tombola and lucky dip to name but a few! The grotto remains a firm favourite of course and particular thanks to Mrs Lamb and all the team who spent many hours setting up and packing away. There are some final calculations to be done but I am delighted to announce that around £2000 was raised on the day. Thank you!
I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New year. See you on Tuesday 8 January!
