Dear Parents and Carers,
What with home-made baubles, Away in a Manger, the service at St Giles and the KS1 glitter ball it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! There are so many traditions associated with Christmas in school that it often feels as though we’ve ‘done’ it before the end of term, but I know how much the children love to celebrate with their friends before going home and doing it all over again!
A huge thank you to our KS1 children who performed ‘Lights Camel Action’ with so much enthusiasm! The singing, dancing and all round entertainment were fantastic, well done everybody!
Thank you to all parents for their support in providing donations, food and goodwill at such a hectic time of year. Next week we have lots more: our school Christmas dinner, the music concert, year group parties and remaining performances as well as our whole school Christmas jumper day on December 21st.
We have had so many Christmas cards posted this year and thanks to our efficient team of Y6 children, they have all been delivered within 24 hours! The last day for posting cards will be Wednesday. There’s still time to make a Christmas decoration for our tree too if your child would like to have a go.
Thank you to everyone who sent toys in for others this year. The theme of my whole school assembly this week was giving, and it has been great to see children sharing what they have and thinking about others. If you would still like to donate a gift to Radio Aire's Christmas appeal, then please bring them into the office on Monday.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone involved with tomorrow’s Christmas Fair ahead of the event. As always, so much time and thought goes into organising events for the children and I do hope you will come and support us. The current forecast is for light snow from 1pm so we are still going ahead with the Fun run, unless weather conditions deteriorate. It will be very cold of course, so do wear lots of layers and bring a change of clothes if you wish. We will keep everyone in KS1 hall until 11am and aside from the fun run itself, all games, crafts and the all-important grotto will be indoors.
Have a lovely weekend and hope to see you at the Fair!
