Dear Parents and Carers
'A bright, bold and brilliant performance by a mature and talented cast' These were the words of the Shakespeare Schools’ Festival director in response to this week's year six performance which was staged at Leeds university on Wednesday evening. I was tremendously proud of all the children who were able to take part and look forward to seeing everyone perform at the end of year leavers' production. Well done everybody!
Now that the national SATs data is available, I would like to share some key statistics from the end of the last academic year. As you will appreciate, we are delighted with the children's results, a real team effort on the part of children, staff and parents alike. Well done year six, we are really proud of your achievements! Detailed results will available on our school website once the problems with our sever have been rectified but key information is as follows:
I also wanted to let you know how proud we were to receive the Investing in Children Membership award last week. This award was given to everyone within our family of schools, all of whom worked together to achieve our goal of involving children and young people in dialogue that leads to change. I am delighted that we have been recognised for our work on equality and am looking forward to building on our efforts through further partnership projects this year.
Finally, I am delighted to share the news that Mrs Hurst gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Wednesday morning. She was 7lb and everyone is back at home and doing brilliantly.
Have a lovely weekend.
