Dear Parents and Carers,
It was lovely to see so many children joining in with ‘Children In Need’ Day. A special thank you needs to go to Chloe and Lauren, both of whom are on our school council. Chloe and Lauren planned today’s events (slipper parade and comfy reading sessions) and I was very impressed that they also led key stage assemblies between them. Thank you girls!
The focus for the week has been friendship and kindness and many children have been thinking of ‘random acts of kindness’ they can do for their peers. In key stage one, we have been teaching children new games to play and reminding them of the classics they may have forgotten!
As you know, we are currently fund raising for our fantastic outdoor area and I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that I am holding a meeting next week with a representative from AGP play. This is a chance to discuss our possible future plans and to ask questions. In order to accommodate more parents, we are holding two meetings on the same day - one at 2pm and one at 6pm, both on Tuesday 20 November.
Finally, I have also spoken to all children in KS1 today about the dangers of ‘play fighting’. We do appreciate that many children like to engage in physical play but as you will understand, we need to operate a ‘zero tolerance’ approach in school to ensure that children are not endangered at playtime. Any avoidable scratching incidences will therefore be dealt with by me personally and everyone on duty will be reinforcing that children need to make sensible choices at playtime.
Thank you for your support and have a lovely weekend.
