Dear Parents and Carers,
As we near the end of a busy term in an even busier year, I am sure you are all looking forward to Wednesday. The last few months have flown by in a blur of activity and it is hard to believe just how much has been achieved over the course of the year. Your child’s school report celebrates some of their personal and academic achievements and I do hope you have had an opportunity to share it with your child and talk about their next step targets. Please complete and return the parent contribution slip if you have not already done so. This is the final sheet in your report folder and we would be most grateful if you could return it to the office by Wednesday.
Now that children have spent three mornings in their new classes, I hope they are feeling prepared for next academic year. A number of parents dropped into our informal ‘meet the teacher’ session last week and I wanted to remind everyone that we will be holding our usual curriculum information evening at 7:00pm on Thursday 26 September. This is a chance to hear about the new year group expectations and ask questions about the curriculum and how you can best support your child. Please make a note in your diaries.
This week our Y6 children entertained us with their leavers’ play, a not so traditional version of Robin of Sherwood which involved everyone and made us all laugh. The whole school watched the production this week and we are very much looking forward to the leavers’ assembly and seeing their ‘leavers’ DVD’. We are always so proud of our Y6’s as they go off to secondary school and this year is no exception. We wish them all well in their new schools and look forward to them visiting us again at some point in the future!
Finally, I am sorry that today's fun run had to be postponed. The fun run and optional colour run will now take place on Monday 22 July, with the first race at 4:00pm. Many thanks for supporting this event, we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Have a lovely weekend
Rachel Colbourn
