Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s Science week at Bramhope! Across the school we have been rolling, measuring, finding, collecting, sorting and analysing all things science-related as well as asking and answering lots of science related questions. Our wildlife area has been put to good use, many of the children have been out and about conducting fieldwork on our wonderful site and the whole school joined together at the end of the day to see and hear what everybody else had been doing! Many thanks to our science leaders (Mrs Lawson and Mrs Hurst) for organising the week. Don’t forget our budding scientists can choose to extend their learning by undertaking some of our optional home challenges. Click here if you’ve missed the info!
As you are aware, we are always keen for our school council to take the lead on pupil–focused projects and a big thank you to Eve and Lucy who have now installed our first nature board on the school playground! Thank you too to Sam who led this week’s Red Nose campaign. Sam enlisted the help of Zain, Daud and Alex and the boys sold over 300 noses during the course of the week. This, together with today’s non-school uniform day means that we have raised over £500 for comic relief. Well done everyone!
Finally, I look forward to seeing many of you at next week’s Parent forum which will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 20 March in the school library. This is an opportunity to ask questions or express your views about any aspect of school life. Fiona Wrightson (our chair of Governors) and I are particularly keen to hear your views about home learning (homework) and are happy to discuss any aspect of the school development plan and hear your views as to how we could make our school even better!
Have a lovely weekend,
Rachel Colbourn
