Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to start this week’s letter by thanking the parents who very kindly volunteered to attend an information meeting to find out more about taking on the formal roles of PTA Chair,Treasurer and Secretary. Last week I wrote and explained that our current PTA team have resigned and that without replacements for these roles we will be unable to plan any future events. This meeting is open to everyone and I'd like to invite anyone who might want to be involved in any capacity to join us. The meeting will be held on Friday 25th January at 2.15pm.
As you'll see from this week's newsletter, we have had another busy week in school and welcomed lots of new visitors. We are extremely grateful for parental support in ensuring that our children enjoy a rich and balanced curriculum and I know that all these ‘extras’ place additional demands on parents too. With so much going on in school, I thought it might be useful to highlight the following dates for your diary:
4 February : Forthcoming optional challenge to spend time away from any screens
5 February : World cancer day (optional food donations for Hospital visitors)
22 February: World thinking day (Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to come in uniform on 1 March if they wish)
7 March: World Book day: (optional costumes- KS1 is Roald Dahl themed)
15 March: Red Nose Day (option to wear red noses etc!)
Any donations we receive for 'Leeds with the homeless' will be distributed at the next event in Leeds on Friday 25th January. Thanks to everyone who's donated so far, please drop off at school any donations of toiletries, clothing, food items, gift cards or dry dog food and we'll make sure they get to where they're needed.
Please also note that curriculum newsletters are now available on our website by clicking on this link. The newsletters provide information as to which key objectives teachers will be covering this term and provide information regarding current topics and units of work within your child’s year group.
Finally, we are currently updating our Snow and ice policy and procedure. I will be issuing new, simplified guidance in the next couple of weeks. I am not anticipating any severe weather this next week but we are always mindful that heavy snow now seems to fall much later in the term. For now, have a lovely weekend!
Yours sincerely,
Rachel Colbourn
